Position Overview

The Administrative Hearing Officer is responsible for conducting formal administrative hearings and ensuring fair, impartial, and legally sound resolutions of labor-related cases. This position presides over hearings, reviews evidence, rules on motions, and issues administrative orders and decisions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

This is a key legal and administrative role that requires strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. The Hearing Officer also provides legal recommendations, hears appeals, and ensures due process throughout all proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct administrative hearings, pre-hearing conferences, and related proceedings.
  • Review filings, motions, and evidence for compliance with legal procedures.
  • Rule on motions and objections in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Draft and issue administrative orders, decisions, and findings.
  • Hear and decide assigned appeals.
  • Provide legal guidance and procedural recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a legal or administrative capacity such as an attorney, judge, or comparable position.
  • Strong working knowledge of administrative law, procedural rules, and evidentiary standards.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain impartiality and sound judgment in decision-making.
